2019 Summer Solidarity Celebration

Thank you to Edna Vazquez, the Lagunitas Community Room, Elephant’s Delicatessen, and to all our community members who showed up for the special evening of celebration. We appreciate you spending you coming out and helping make it such a great night. Our sincerest gratitude to you all!

The past year has been incredible for our community. As we move into the spring and summer months that are full of warmth and sunshine, we have so much celebrate and be grateful for. From big victories for workers forming unions and organizing for better working conditions to continuing to defend our community from white supremacy, the work we’ve done together over the past year is just as valuable as it is exciting because we are building a more just and equitable society right here in our own backyard. That’s why we’re so excited to invite you to our
3rd annual Summer Solidarity Celebration featuring Edna Vazquez!

Thursday May 30th, 6-9pm, 21+ only
Lagunitas Community Room (237 NE Broadway St #300)
Online pre-sale tickets are sold out. Tickets will be available at the door for $25.

*The space is ADA accessible.
**If you need ASL interpretation please email justin@jwjpdx.org no later than May 16th so we have time to make the proper arrangements.  Spanish interpretation of our brief program will be provided.

There will be food for no additional cost provided by Elephants Delicatessen, cash bar provided by Lagunitas Brewing Company, 50/50 raffle and more!

We are truly honored to have Edna Vazquez performing at our celebration.

Currently touring with Pink Martini,  she is a fearless singer, songwriter and guitarist whose powerful voice and musical talent embrujan and transcend the boundaries of language to engage and uplift her audience.

She is a creative crisol with a vocal range that allows her to paint seamlessly with her original material, an intersection of folk, rock, pop and R&B. Edna’s passion for music and performance grew from her bicultural raices and, with songs deeply rooted in universal human emotion, she has traveled far and wide spreading her message of light, love and cultural healing.”

Este último año ha sido un año increíble para nuestra comunidad. A medida que hacemos la transición hacia la primavera y verano con sus meses llenos de  calor y sol, tenemos muchas cosas que celebrar y agradecer. Desde las grandes victorias para los trabajadores que formaron sindicatos y se organizaron para mejorar sus condiciones de trabajo, como también  la defensa de nuestra comunidad contra la supremacía blanca. El trabajo que hemos realizado juntos durante el año pasado es tan valioso como emocionante porque estamos construyendo una sociedad justa y equitativa aquí mismo en nuestra propia comunidad. Es por eso que estamos entusiasmados de invitarles a nuestra

tercera celebración anual de solidaridad del verano, con la grata participación de  Edna Vazquez!
