Save the U of O Labor Education Research Center from Massive Budget Cuts!
While most other academic programs are facing 2%-10% budget reductions, the University of Oregon has proposed a 68% budget cut for LERC. This is a clear and unacceptable attempt by the “Nike University” to weaken labor and engage in a long term game of union busting.
But faculty and the community are going to fight back, and together we are going to win! Sign the petition to save LERC today!

Give Us Shelter! A Walk to Salem for Housing Justice
We are in a crisis situation! Wages remain low while housing becomes more and more expensive, throwing many low income people and families deeper into poverty. This causes many people to be homeless or be on the verge of homelessness. Affordable housing is in short supply creating additional stress, over burdening the community as a whole and creating friction between the housed and un-housed. This is not just a urban crisis.
In light of these problems advocates are asking the Governor and the Oregon Legislature to do the following for the rights of the houseless. Join us for a community event to send off the crew that is marching to Salem!

Informational Picket at OHSU
OHSU is currently enjoying record profits. To show their gratitude to the workers that make that possible, OHSU administrators wants to increase employee healthcare costs, and are trying to hold back pay raises in order to pay for an audit to address their pay inequities. If that wasn’t ridiculous enough, they also want to move employees to an unfair paid time off policy that will cost employees thousands of dollars.
OHSU workers are fighting back with an informational picket and is asking for the community to join them in support. Let’s show them who’s really the boss, Portland is a union town!
Join the picket on June 13 at 4pm at the main OHSU campus (3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd, Portland, OR 97239
