You are invited to the
14th Annual Jobs with Justice Faith/Labor Breakfast
THE THEME THIS YEAR WILL BE:
Economic Justice for all – taking back power for our families and communities
Our neighbors are working harder than ever to make ends meet and unions – the pillar of the American middle class – are facing tough anti-worker battles. Join us to find out how we can fight together for better policies and a thriving state!
Read a special invitation from Jan Elfers, Executive Director of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon; Bob Tackett, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of Northwest Oregon Labor Council; and Diana Pei Wu, Executive Director of Portland Jobs with Justice.
Our Faith Labor Breakfast is an event that aims to unite participants from Faith Institutions and Labor organizations. Worker speakers and leaders from diverse faith traditions come together to share their stories and encourage community members to support justice and dignity for all workers. The goal of this breakfast is to raise awareness of labor issues and motivate participants to take action on behalf of worker justice.
A highlight of the morning is the presentation of the Lucinda Tate Award, which is given to a faith or labor leader who embodies her wonderful spirit and her tireless effort in search for social, racial, and worker justice.
The event is hosted by Portland Jobs with Justice ‘s Faith Labor Committee which exists to forge relationships and alliances of people of Faith with people from worker justice campaigns, both through organized labor and workers attempting to obtain justice in their workplace. We welcome all faiths and all people.
